Tanya Romero Promoted To COO/SVP At Guadalupe Credit Union

Tanya Romero has been promoted to Chief Operations Officer/Senior Vice President at Guadalupe Credit Union.

Romero, a credit union veteran who has spent the past 20 years at GCU, started her career with GCU as a Member Service Representative, and moved up the ranks, holding positions like Training Director, Branch Operations Manager, and Chief Operations Officer. In 2015, she graduated from Western CUNA Management School, and in 2017 completed the National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Educator Program.

“Tanya’s dedication, professionalism, and industry expertise have played an important role in GCU’s continued growth over the years,” says Winona Nava, President/CEO of Guadalupe Credit Union. “I am thrilled that she will be assuming this important new role, as her unwavering focus on our members will help us to continue providing them with the financial empowerment they’ve come to expect from GCU.”

In her new role, Romero will assume the day-to-day operational responsibilities, overseeing all aspects of operations within GCU, including Member Services, Operations, Information Technology, and Human Resources.

After being part of the 2014 CUNA Government Affairs Conference (GAC) Crashers Program, Tanya created a Young Professional program in Northern New Mexico, which incorporated quarterly events involving education, political advocacy, community involvement, and volunteer work. In her personal life, Tanya loves spending time with her family, and cooking delicious New Mexican dishes.
