In The Community
Providing financial empowerment within the communities we serve!
They say that if you're going to talk the talk, you've got to walk the walk. Here at Guadalupe Credit Union, we do! We are very proud to work on helping our members save, build credit, and avoid predatory lenders – especially those members that big banks often don’t have the time for.
Our staff gives over 1,000 volunteer hours in our community! You can read more of what we do in our community here and here.
Through free financial coaching, special loan options, savings choices, and more, we offer our members services that pertain to each person, unique to their history and goals. Our philosophy is based on "people helping people" and at GCU, our members are more than just a number.
But here at Guadalupe Credit Union, it's about more than just the work we do at our branches. Our team believes in the credit union difference. We give back to our community by teaching financial literacy to all age groups, regardless of whether or not they are a member of GCU. From educating children about money and business through the national BizKid$ program, to helping those who need some extra holiday cheer with our Christmas Families project, we are committed to laying the foundations for financial wellness for all Northern New Mexicans.
We also love being involved with different local organizations to raise awareness and improve the well-being of those from every walk of life in our community.
A few of the organizations GCU has supported through fundraising and volunteering include:
- Somos Un Pueblo Unido
- Children's Miracle Network
- SFPS Adelante Program
- St. Elizabeth Shelters and Supportive Housing
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
